EMPLOYEE RELIABILITY INVENTORY

REDUCE TURNOVER: IDENTIFY CANDIDATES WHO WILL BE SAFE, RELIABLE AND GET THE JOB DONE

Developed by Dr. Gerald Borofsky at the Harvard Medical School, the Employee Reliability Inventory (ERI®) contains 81 statements which are answered as either true or false, and is completed in about 10 minutes.

The Employee Reliability Inventory (ERI®) is a standardized, objective, and highly accurate assessment of candidate work behavior. The results provide crucial details about an applicant – details that are not otherwise available to you. The results specifically identify areas of possible job related behavior problems, and how to address each one. Based on the level of reliability and productivity you require for a given position, you can use the ERI® to help you construct behaviorally-based selection guidelines for that position.

THE RESULTS PREDICT THE LIKELIHOOD OF RELIABLE AND PRODUCTIVE WORK BEHAVIOR IN EACH OF THESE SEVEN SKILL AREAS:

  • Freedom from disrupted job performance-The job applicant’s performance and productivity will not be disrupted by behaviors such as inattentiveness, unauthorized absence or lateness, failing to follow through on assignments, or other inappropriate work behaviors.
  • Trustworthiness– The applicant will perform on the job in a trustworthy manner.
  • Conscientiousness– The applicant will perform on the job in a productive and conscientious manner, and will not be terminated in the first 30 days of employment.
  • Courtesy– The potential employee’s interactions with customers, guests and coworkers will be characterized by a high level of courtesy and commitment to service.
  • Emotional Maturity– The candidate’s performance and productivity will not be disrupted due to the presence of maladaptive personality traits, such as irresponsibility, difficulty in working cooperatively with others, poor judgment, or poor impulse control.
  • Long Term Job Commitment– The applicant will show a long term commitment to the job and will not quit within the first 30 days of employment.
  • Safety– The applicant will perform work safely, and will not have a significant on-the-job accident in the first 4 months of employment.

The Employee Reliability Inventory is simple and straightforward for job applicants. The assessment can be completed online by the candidate using their mobile phone or computer prior to coming in for an interview. Interviewing and checking references becomes more objective, structured, and focused, and by concentrating on the specific work behavior problems identified by the results, you are able to assess job candidates accurately, efficiently and economically
